My Story

I serve as the Editor-in-Chief of Southport High School's newsmagazine, The Journal. I have previously held positions as News Reporter, News Editor and Print Managing Editor. As a junior, I interned and periodically freelanced with the local newspaper The Southsider Voice as well as worked on the Student Board of the Indiana High School Press Association. I participate as president of the board for this school year.

At Southport, I'm a member of the National Honor Society, International Thespian Society and Foreign Language Honor Society. Spanish is a large part of my high-school career, as I am enrolled in Spanish VI and tutor ESL students at the Jeremiah Gray Kindergarten Academy weekly.

It's difficult to encapsulate the soul of multiple years of high-school journalism in a website, but I do my best. As you peruse these samples of my journalistic work, I hope you begin to see the profound impact the field of journalism has had on me thus far and for years to come.
